Hi Im looking at getting a 93 240sx se with the stock engine and auto trans, The trans will need replacing and I think I would be dumb to get an auto so I will probably do a manual conversion but what I want to do eventually is get into the 12's without nos. What is the cheapest and most convenient way to do this. Im sure an engine swap will be needed. what else will need to be done and what engine should I get. Also all in all how much will this cost. Me and a friend are Swapping his 92 240 engine for the same one and its coming along all right so we dont have our heads completely up our a$$es when it comes to engine work, so with a lot of time and hard work Im sure I could do most of the work myself.

Thanks

if the engine you have has low miles on it about 80,000 or less, well do a compression and leakdown test, you should be able to sneek into the 12's with a lightened s13 or get a low milage ka to swap in. you will definitly have to go turbo. put together a kit with proper fuel and tuning (jwt ecu or piggyback) will be about $3500-4000. you will still need to upgrade wheels, tires, suspension, and brakes. so say about $8000 and have a great all around car. on the fuel theres a chance that you could use 370cc sr injectors and tune with a piggyback which will save you a couple hundred dollars but they are only good to 10psi. with a light enough 240 you might be able to get a very high 12 sec on 10 psi.
