hey techs, i tried searching about this but didnt come up with a lot of anything concrete, except to go spray things with carb cleaner which im planning on doin now

but anyway, i can start my car and it runs for a few seconds and then stumbles down to 500, tries to recover, but usually dies. so friends told me its probably some vacuum leak but which vacuum lines would cause the car to not hold idle? it will run but i have to keep giving it gas, if i let go of gas it will sputter and just die.

also do i have to have all the egr lines hookd up? there are 2 lines connecting to the intake and the smaller one i capped off, it goes to the egr and i dont think its very important is it ?

thanks in advanceMarko

There is only one vaccum line that will effect idle and that is the one to the fuel pressure regulator and SCV solonoid. Right now I have only that vaccum line connected to my fuel pressure regulator and other wise capped off and the car runs like a top. All other vaccum lines/solonoids have been removed for the time being. Your problem sounds like either the idle control valve has takin a dump or you are running excessivly rich due to corrosion of the coolant temp connector or inaccurate airflow meter reading. I am leaning toward an idle air control valve issue.

Check what Scott has said to check out above. Check the MAFS, and the IACV though. Sounded like a problem my SR was having, it was linked to the MAFS.
