What type of transmission fluid and filter to use?

Hey what type of transmission filter should i use? Is redline transmission fluid any good? Does anyone know of a better one?

er......there's no filter on the transmission....if you're talking about 5 speed.

I use Redline MT-90,It seems to work fine,No gear grinds at all.Even when cold.And he's right there's no transmission filter.

Hmm... my transmission runs beautiful when cold, but I can barely shift it into 1st on a dead stop when warm.... Redline didn't solve squat... maybe my transmission is too far gone... anyway, sorry if I jacked your thread.

Try GM Synchromesh Friction Modified Fluid. I had a slight grind when shifting fast in my V6 Six Speed Accord, it solved it wonderfully. I hear that you can run it in almost any transmisson. This stuff really works. Make sure it is the Friction Modified kind, not the regular Synchromesh. I'm willing to bet it solves your problem.

Redline MT90 is good stuff. I use it in customers cars and have used it in my own transmission. Now I use Motul Motylgear oil.

Yea i notice if i slam it hardinto 2end it grinds a little.

if it is a 5 spd then a 75w90 gl4 or its synthetic equivelent, yes redline is good, if its an auto then i am sorry but it would take dextron III only autos have filters

It's a 5 spd, my friend asked me what type of transmission filter i was going to use so i assumed it had one haha.
