Hey everyone,I run my Nissan 350z in B Stock in Autocrosses, but I need some help on tire choice selection. What do you recommend based on the modifications that I have done to the car? here is the digital garage to see mods:

I currently have BFG G-force Sports in rear 340 treadwear (245/45/17x8)fronts are Direzza Straspecs 200 treadwear (same)

I need to beat this RX-8 that has some Khumos

See what the top 3, 350z drivers ran at nationals last year. I would assume Hoosiers, but Kumho or may work too. Either way, a DOT race tire is what you need. A shore hardness of 50-60 will be good.

*edit* Also, take out your subs and amp, along with anything else you can pull out of your car to reduce it's weight.

I think they are running the Hoosier A6, but they are SUPER expensive, are there any tires that have similar grip levels at a cheaper price?

the V710 si the closes you are gonna get to hoosiers and are only slightly cheaper, the kumho ecsta xs has recently tested as the top dog int he sts tires, not gonna compete with hoosiers but a lot cheaper then R compounds and you can street drive them so no trialer and extra wheels needed

look up ldstang50, he is an avid autocrosser with a Z33 and just got 2nd at a national tour event

Hoosier A6s. Anything else and you'll get destroyed. Kumho's don't have anywhere the grip that Hoosiers have, but they do last a bit longer and dont' fall off as quick.Don't even bother with street tires, the z doesn't fall into any ST class.

you know, as much as people hope otherwise, it seems that the Hoosiers are the answer. Thanks for just coming out and saying it! Most people tell me "oh you dont need to spend $ on Hoosiers, you can be just as fast in the Khumo"

RM tests have had the V710 as being a bit faster than the A6, but the A6 is supposed to be easier to drive fast, but you still see mroe national champs on hoosiers

A few years back the Kumhos were the tire to have. Hoosier around 06 maybe, I could be wrong, came out with the A6. In 07, the made some changes to the tire which made it much much better.Having run Kumhos and Hoosiers, I can personally say the Hoosiers are much better. For your average driver looking to get 2sec faster, ya the Kumhos can do it, but for the ultra competitive driver looking for those last .4-.7seconds, the the Kumhos won't be able to give it do you. The Hoosiers have a higher slip angle but don't give away as nicely as the Kumhos. Also, everyone now runs Hoosiers because they are the only R compound manufacturer to offer contingency. And a VERY good contingency at that. At a tour or pro, winning your class gets you two tires of any size and 2nd place gets 1 tire. I know BFG offers something, but I'm not sure what, thats why you see so many guys running Potenzas....and the fact the RE01R was dirt cheap early this year to make room for the RE11

I have always heard that you can get faster lap times out of the A6
