If drag racing I'd stick with the stock flywheel with an ACT street strip if you're looking at about 350whp or Exedy stage 2(3 puck). Gotta think about hp and what you're gonna be doing with it then upgrade from there.

I put in an ACT street/strip clutch w/ HD pressure plate, and a prolight 10lb flywheel. Haven't had any complaints and it's a daily driver.

Thats the clutch I got and I love it. It's really heavy though, it takes a little bit to get used to it. I'd go with that, its rated to 400hp.

I have a fidanza 12 lb on my sr20det and I like it alot better than the stock. the rpms are much more "useable" and for drifting its worth the $250 I spent on it on ebay.

under $400? That definitly leaves out the flywheel upgrade. I went with the ACT Street/Strip clutch (stock flywheel) back when i had my swap done. Its been holding great for over 25 passes of drag racing and alot of street racing. Im also pushing near 400whp with it and no slipping occurs. Definilty a good clutch for the money.

i may not be making huge power, but i'm using the Spec Stage 2. i LOVE the way it drives. hardly any chatter. if you slip at 1000rpm you won't have any at all. it only shows up down below about 800rpm slipping. holds great, shifts great, and very easy to drive, although of course it has a heavy pedal. it's also rated for 380ft*lbs, which equates to about 305-310ft*lbs at the wheels, which is a hair over what most 300whp SR's make, so if you're thinking about 300whp and don't plan on drag racing, it's probably going to be fine for you. and it doesn't have any of the annoying qualities of a puck clutch, like engagement that can be too quick or bad chatter. don't get me wrong, if i dump the clutch, she grabs HARD, but i'm only making 214ft*lbs of the available 305-310, so i'm nowhere near maxing it out. it's not full-faced, but windowed kevlar, FYI.

that said, SPEC was a BEEOTCH with me. i got a great price from Enjuku, but now that i've installed it i find that the clutch disc springs are not balanced properly and my rear end vibrates under decel, esp. in 4th gear and only between 3000-2000rpm. they won't help me at all other than to sell me a new disc. they offered to take my disc and look at it but he was sure it was fine. "we've sold hundreds of Nissan discs all with the same springs . . . i mean, each application has springs for that application, and nobody has reported a problem". yeah, when he made the correction he sounded like an idiot. i won't be buying another SPEC just b/c of that guy. but the clutch WORKS extremely well.
