I found some blinkers like the ones on "Aussie-Q'er" car but I am having a hard time choosing what to go with.

So should I go with side marker blinkers like the ones on "Aussie-Q'er" car:

Or should I go with mirror side blinkers like this:

Old Q take enough effort/ $$$ just to keep on the road in near new condition, leaving no time for silly mods.

I understand what it takes to maintain a Q45, In fact on my free free* time I made a document that lists the bests topics on maintain and modifying and restoring your Q45 from the IOM and Q45 forum:

If anyone want to pin the above document feel free to do so, I will keep updating it as well. http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=...xrkg8

But I am not trying to make my car VIP, I am trying to make a JDM Q45 like an Australian one.

And I have money but I have many Idea's and these idea's need answers or opinions from my fellow Niconians.

But if anyone feels this topic is in the wrong section feel free to move to where I can get more opinions on What I should do.

*On my free time I screw off, on my really free free time where I am really board I update this document.

No matter how many times I see them I never get over how good those clear JDM headlights look. Too bad they cost an arm and a leg and have the incorrect kickup for Right Hand Drivers

I have a STRONG, PASSIONATE dislike for ALL side-mount signal repeaters, including mirror signals.

I fail to grasp the appeal of them. To me they SCREAM generic economy car. They're industrial-functional looking items. Would you "modify" your Q45 by running a reflector safety strip down the side? Mirror signals are the same look in my eyes. If I ever bought a new car with them, I'd promptly cut some paint-matched vinyl to cover the lens until I could find some normal mirrors.

The rear should be red or clear.

I think I like everything about the car EXCEPT the signals/side markers. The fender repeaters especially are bad.

The wheels, body mods, and color are all excellent, though.

Hey do you happen to have more pictures of his car?

But you have to admit it looks like a BMW with those side markers like an M3 maybe. Overall its just looks more sporty.

I don't like side markers on BMWs any more than I do on the Q. Audi makes some of my favorite bodystyles on the market right now, and the first thing I'd do if I took one home is tear off the fender repeaters.

The rockers and lips definitely lend a sportier look to that Q. The amber lights don't have anything to do with it...at least to my eyes.

And the best looking BMW ever (indeed, the best looking sedan ever), the E38 7 series, has no repeaters on the fenders or the mirrors.

I guess I'm just a fan of blending the functional bits into the design as seamlessly as possible. Ideally, for me, all side markers will be darkly tinted and only visible when lit or actively reflecting. This is especially true of a car like the Q that has detached independent side markers instead of just wraparounds from the head and tail light designs...the 90-93 with it's face-only headlights most of all. From an aesthetic point of view, the car ideally wouldn't have any side-markers at all. But they have a necessary purpose. I just want them to disappear until that purpose is called into play.

The ones in the first pic look a lot like the ones that came on my Nissan President conversion kit.

So, of course, I prefer those.

I like how GM integrates LED turn lights into the mirrors so that they can only be seen when in use. Its also great for letting elderly drivers know that their blinkers are still on.

The mirror signals hidden behind the reflector are a good idea. They serve a good functional purpose and disappear when not in use. Additional signal visibility for the car next to you is a bonus that forward-facing mirror signals don't offer.
