your wrong Kamin. The Rb20 turbo falls under the family tree of Suck Ares. Don't even bother with it.

LOL...is that a step above or below the infamous Blows Goats family of turbos?

Yeah, the RB is a T3 flange. What model it is exactly is beyond me though.

So i'd have to use a t3 manifold then.. btw i'm going to use this for my ka-t setup.. the turbo i'll be getting wont have an actuator =( .. will i be able to use an external wastegate? or should i just buy a stock actuator from a t25,t28, or a rb20 turbo..

If you are going to use a turbo that isn't internally gated, you need to have an exhaust manifold that has a fitting for an external gate.

And if the turbo's exhaust housing isn't set up for an internal gate, you can't just slap one on. The housings are different.

Look around on Google or some other places and search for images for internally gated turbo set ups and externally gates setups.

i just got the turbo.. it is internaly wastegated.. i just need to get an actuator.. so would i have to weld up where the external wastegate is suppose to go in the t3 manifold? cuz i wouldn't need it right?..sorry for the newbness lol

While we're on the subject, does anyone know the A/R's - Trim size of the RB25DET S1/2 turbo? Hot/cold side off the top of thier head?

If your turbo is internally gated all you need is an actuator and the arm. If you have a stock RB20 turbo, I have an actuator for you from my old turbo. Or you can just buy my old turbo as a spare or to rebuild it if you want. I'll make it cheap for you too. If you just want the actuator, $50 plush shipping and it's yours. I'll ship it out on Saturday.

i dunno about using a rb20 turbo on a ka-t setup. it'll spool faster than you can poop yourself, but top end would be lacking. also I tried to take my turbo to get it rebuilt (leaking oil seal), and you can't since it's a ball bearing turbo. You have to buy a new center section.

y not use is on a ka-t setup.. its almost as small as the sr turbo everyone is using. and this turbo is in good condition, minimal shaft play , and it came off an rb20 with 44kms. also ill be boostin it max 10 psi to be safe

I'd see no problem with using the stocker for a KA-T set-up you don't want something too big on a KA-T. A buddy of mine may be doing a DIY KA-T in which case will be using the stock RB20 turbo off of my engine most likely. If I upgrade soon enough!

water inlet and outlet are the 2 larger banjo bolts on the "side" of the center section. the oil has 1 banjo bolt on the top and the odd 2 bolt collecter thingy at the bottom of the center section. However you install the turbo, make sure the oil banjo bolt is on top. Unfortunatly you can't clock the exhaust housing on the rb20 turbo, so that may limit your mounting options with that turbo depending on what exhaust mani you use.

soo the inlet is just one bolt? and the outlet is the one with the hole with the 2 lil things to bolt the outlet on? lastly the water cooled inlet is the big one? just wanna be sure ..and as for the turbo, it'll be on a top mount mani.. the inlet would be left and the outlet would be on the right when it'll be bolted on.. but the jgs mani is a little tilted to the right.. would the oil flow in right? can i just use oil only and no water ?
