i was thinking about getting used sr t-25 for my ka but my friend has an evo and he said i could have his 16g turbo. i was told it could fit if i modify the manifold but now i was wondering if it would be facing the right way, the inlet side on the side it should be on, if that makes sense. yes i did post this question in the advanced forum but i would like peoples opinion who have turbo'd there ka.

I use a sr t25, boost comes in real fast, but it wont do much after 10 or so psi.... a bigger turbo is better for a ka so if the 16g thing is bigger(flows more air) and your able to modify stuff go for it, a free turbo is a free turbo...

IDK anything about the turbo you mention pics would help, the comp inlet is facing the firewall I understand that part. I think thats what would require mani mod's... custom d/p too.

The T3/TO4E in 50 trim with a .63 AR hot side is the best turbo...price wise and range.

Any turbo can fit if it's externally gated since the compressor housing and exhaust housing can be turned to align where needed.

There are 6 bolts on the back of the compressor and 6 on the back of the exhaust housing. Just loosen them and that will allow you to twist the housings to face anyway you need them to.

so after reading a bunch of posts i finally realize what your talking about WD.....clocking the turbo. my friend was saying the compressor and the exhaust housing are on the wrong side...ie---the sr turbos compressor is in the front and the exhaust is facing the firewall. he saying the compressor would be in the back and the exhaust is in the front. if i just turn it around to face the same way as the t25 would the compressor fins and exhaust fins would be the wrong way(that what i figure). i put up some links that show an evo turbo and a sr turbo and i hope that helps

evo turbo....this is not the 16g but it sits the same way. that would be the way it would sit on the manifold with the intake coming towards you in the pict.http://www.jscspeed.com/evo/ev...o.htmh ... ev...o.htm^^^^ that shows the engine and turbo together. the turbo would be on the front of the car.

heres a t25 on an sr.....i figure you already no what it looks like so i only got one link.....http://www.turbo-kits.com/imag...e.jpg

i hope this helps you guys help me. and sorry if you already answered my question but im still in the dark. thanks again guys

well that sr isnt stock nor is that turbo.....

stock sr t25 sits on the bottom(upside down from what your post of a clearly custom made t3/4(I could be wrong on the series) manifold. Big turbo up top little one on bottom, its a room issue mostly. If you need a pic I can go snap a few, but I'm on an ssac manifold and t25(stock from an sr), its a bottom mount turbo, hence I just bolted it to my bottom mount manifold without need to clock.

Furthermore I dont see an issue other than the inlet flange. Just get it and clock it, should be fine. A custom d/p will be needed too, but thats a given using non "normal" parts.
