I have a CA18det in my car and I have read that I can bolt the transmission from a ka on to it using my bell housing from my ca. True True. But I was really wondering if I could use a sr20 or sr20det trans. would that bolt up to my bell housing as well? I also know the newer s15's have 6speeds would this trans bolt up as well. If anyone could give me insight it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Any transmission from a Silvia/240SX will work. You don't want the S15 transmission as it is notoriously weak. Get the KA transmission. It has a taller 5th gear, so you will get better highway mileage. My 2nd gear synchro is getting bitchy and if a change to Redline MT-90 dosen't help like it did for my RX-7, then I am going to start looking for a KA transmission myself.

if i remember correctly, you can also use a transmission out of a specific nissan frontier, and some other crazy stuff. the s15 transmission isnt gonna bolt right up, or i would have done it by now.

The DE and E are the same transmission. Its just DE tend to be newer because of production years.

if u could somehow get a 300zx turbo 6 speed transmission on there, then ud be set. if u want a 6 speed, take it to a shop and tell them to fabricate a z32 transmission on there.

thats a monolith of a transmission from what i can remember. your going to need a little more fabrication than you think, or a big sledge..
