Right now I have nothing, no motor and no tools. I just have a stock 92' 240. I want so bad for it to be a quick little car. I figure the best way to start is to get the parts I'll need to pull the KA and install the CA. So, where can I get a factory service manual and do you guys know off the top of your heads what size wrenches and what not I'm going to need (a link would be nice)? I'm in the Tampa FL area and would love if anyone who wouldn't mind helping me out, just reply and let me know or drop me an e-mail.

As for myself, I'm a complete noob when it comes to doing stuff on my car. The only things I've ever done are change oil, oil filter, air filter, change a tire, and knock off this obnoxious noisy heat-shield from around the exhaust I think (hell if I know, it was just bugging me).

This probably won't go down for another 2 months btw. It's not immediately on me, but I figured I should get started by getting the proper tools and info.

you need lots of stuff. open end wrenches to start off with. preferrably the ratcheting kind. they save so much time. gotta have screw drivers.... ummm a metric socket set. might need some deep well sockets, i'm not sure because i have the gear ratchet socket set that has the sockets that have a hole all the way threw so you don't need deep wells. some sort of penetrating spray like WD40 or PB blaster is use full for stubborn bolts. a 1 to 2 foot piece of PVC or metal pipe. you're gonna need an engine hoist too. there is really a lot of crap you'll need. mostly misc. stuff but i'm sure once you start the swap you'll find it all out.

Air tools are nice, but pricey. Came in handy getting off the downpipe and motor mounts. Other parts to get:-Metric box end wrenchs -Socket wrench, several lenghts of extensions, and a set of Metric sockets. Make sure you have standard as wella s deep well socckets!-Crescent wrench-Needle nose pliers-Snap ring pliers-Hammer-lots of screwdrivers

You will use 10mm, 12mm, and 14mm a LOT. 17mm and 19mm will pop in there from time to time, as will 8mm. Take your time, and I bet that one of our many Florida members will give you a hand! Good luck, and keep us posted!

When i did my swap the only tools i used was a 299 piece mastercraft ratchet kit and some big *** socket of 22 to 33 mm.

Dont forget a big holow meteal pipe to get some leverage on your ratchet

Do as F3600 did and go buy a big tool kit, with lots of peices. Anything that doesn't come with it, you can get later.

1) If you don't have them already, a good car jack, jack stands and wheel chocks should be on your list as well. 2) Its not a tool, but clear some space in advance in your garage for both engines, with enough room to work on the new clip.

you will definately want a good deep-wall 14mm socket. i use mine so much its rediculous. get a set of 8-18mm sockets, a 22mm and a 36mm(crank pulley bolt i think is this size) in deep wall and regular and nothing will ever bother you again socket-wise. youll want a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter thingy, a 3/8 socket wrench and massive 1/2in socket wrench, 8-24mm box end wrenches, a good cheater bar, a full set of screwdrivers (reccomend the craftsman 24pc set), some jack stands, a floor jack, some wheel stands, ramps and an engine hoist.

when you put the car on 4 ramps you can pretty much just walk under it. it really makes things easy.
