what to use to seal weatherstripping for door windows?

so that long rubber piece, the weather stripping, window molding, seal, whatever you wanna call it. I ripped mine off to paint the car, and putting it back on i notice it doesnt just snap in, it needs to be glued with something

i bought some window caulking but that didnt really work. Im thinking some kind of rubber epoxy might be better, anyone have better suggestions?

check autozone or similiar store i think they have a specific adhesive for such a thing if not im sure they could tell you what else would work.
