I always remove the plastic cowl under the oil filter when I change it to prevent oil build up there. Those plastic (4) clips that fasten it towards the back are hard to deal with when they get dirt in them. I thought about replacing them with 1/4 inch speed nuts & bolts but don't know if that would be such a good idea.Any suggestions?

My solution was to remove the cover permanently. Did it two years ago.

If I'm not mistaken, Nissan calls them push-pins. I had to replace some. I think one is like 2 dollars.

Or you can take it off like Bubs said.

speed screws and nuts will work fine instead of the push pin clips.

It's a go then, I'll get the speed nuts & bolts for next oil change, Thanks.
