Yesterday I had my computer scanned since my SES light came on again. As suspected, two bad O2 sensors, but that was it (I forgot to write down the codes, but I think it was bank1 front and bank2 rear, or something like that).

Lately, on some trips of any sort of distance, after a while my idle starts getting really high. Today for example, I drove about 30 miles to a mall. After shopping everything was fine. I drove about 1/2 mile up the road to a BW3's and by the time I pulled into a parking spot it was idling at near 2200 RPM. I hit the gas to see if I could get it to back down, but then it went up to over 3000 RPM. I shut it down and went in for lunch and upon starting the car back up after 1/2 hour, it was still sitting idling over 3000 RPM.

I started to drive and in gear, obviously the idles subside a bit, but they are still high. After about a 1 mile down the road, idle returned to normal for the remainder of my trip home.

This has happened to me a couple of times now. Any thoughts on what is going on here? Could this be due to my bad O2 sensors or is something else to blame? '01 i30

Check the entire air intake for leaks - air filter (replace as necessary), clean the MAF sensor (no-residue contact cleaner), clean the TB (be careful and do not spray directly into the assembly) and the IACV. Make sure you identify the malfunctioning O2 sensor and replace them.
