what to look for when buying a z32

hey guys

im going to apologize in advance if this has been covered.

ive been an s chassis guy for the last three years.

im considering a 300zx for my next project.

i know that s13's have plenty of design flaws and weak area's that every potential buyer should inspect before buying.

i was wondering if there is anything specific i should look for when checking out a 300zx. any particualr area's that require more attention or things that generally tend to fail over time

Well, in my opinion this is what i look for when checking out a car for other folks.

1) Overall body panel condition...dent/dings/etc..not to mention molding on the exterior as these have a tendancy to show age/abuse.

2) Rear main seal (check eng to transmission for leaking oil)

3) Condition of the wire harness (looking for deteriation/green oxidation/brittle connectors)

4) Interior... seats/rear cargo and center armrest areas have a tendancy to show the most wear.

5) Mileage and service that is associated with the mileage (timing belts, etc.)
