What to look for when buying a s13?

hey guys in the next couple of days i may be buying a 1992 s13 fastback and i need to know what to look for and since you guys know these cars inside out who better to ask. i know the usual rust areas such as the frame and the body itself and the 1/4 panels is there anything else eg, mechanical and so on thanks.

make sure you check how badly the chain rattles... if it rattles.. which it most likely will.....

A/T or M/T ? If its a A/T then looks for signs of slipage (ckeck the fluid too) and for the M/T would make sure the clutch pedal feels like it is properly engaging and disengaging and listen for clutch chatter. Those are the only problems I've had out of the 3 240's I've owned. Oh and if it has a HUD make sure it doesnt flicker in and out (sign of cluster failure soon).

rust too but as long as it runs and the frame isnt too outa wack id take pretty much any 240 rust, holes etc etc doesnt matter to me

Rust holes are not fun. If you check out a car, take a ballpeen hammer and flashlight, anything that looks like a rust spot, whack it, if it flakes like crazy, or it goes through, ditch the car.

LOL I did that on my 240 I just got from GA. , guy and the dealership looked like he wanted to beat the **** out me. Had to explain my reasons to him. Thank goodness nothing but mud/gunk build up.
