What to look for when buying a 1st gen Q...... Dennis??

I thought it would be a good idea to make this thread, and sticky it, since its a common question....... And I dont think there is one thread concerning this (ive searched)....... This is more/less a thread about what the DEALERS look for....... Also, since I got my suspension done, Id be interested to hear what else should be considered (all I have left on my ultimate check list for mechanical stuff is the plenum and knock sensors... Hoses are in AS NEW condition)

Basically, what I can come up with, is to run the diagnosis on the ECU, look at the suspension components, make sure everything works, transmission is fine, GUIDES (90-93).......

Did you look at the inside of each hose? That's where the deterioration is worse.

Most Dealers don't look there either.

Not each and every hose...... But I have a pretty good idea........ The radiator hoses are perfect, some assorted vacuum hoses Ive seen are perfect, and the fuel hoses are good......... Ive poked around under the plenum with a dowel, and they all seem very soft and pliable....... When Ive taken the hoses off, they have required very little to get them off, just one of those little hose puller things.......
