4wd or 2wd?
There have been TSBs on the power window regulators, so make sure those go up and down smoothly.
If you're looking at 100k mile trucks, be careful if you choose an auto, unless you can validate it's been maintained with regular fluid flushes at 30k mile intervals or t hereabouts. Otherwise, you're likely to have less life left in the trans. 5 speeds don't seem to have the overheating issues that some autos have in hot climates (like Arizona, where I live).
if getting a 4wd, test everything out. Look for leaks. Make sure it shifts in and out well. If equipped with auto hubs like 99% are, make sure you hear them click to disengage when you back up to unlock the hubs after engaging 4wd.
Check steering. The stock steering holds up OK on unlifted trucks with normal offset on the rims, but when you start modifying, the centerlink becomes the weak link. Grab the right front tire and wiggle it, looking for slop in steering components. If it's not lifted, even then, pushing 100k will be time for some R&R.
The timing belt interval is 105k miles. If you don't know it's been done, and you buy a 100k mile truck, figure on doing this ASAP, and replace all belts/hoses, and the water pump while you're at it.
