Been going back and forth on what I want to do with my Q for a few years now. Rarely gets driven any more. It does have some issues and really needs some love and attention which I just don't feel like doing any more. It runs and drives. It has some squeaks and rattles, turbo is leaking oil so it smokes some but mostly just when you get on the gas, along with a few other issues. Over 200K on the clock.

So my thoughts and options...

1) Sell it outright as-is. Probably be lucky to get $2500 for it.

2) Spend some time cleaning it up, fixing a few things, would still have some remaining issues. Might get it up to $3000-$3500 range. I don't really want to put much more time or money into it unless I was keeping it...

3) Partial part out and return to "mostly" stock. Primarily pull the turbo system out and sell as a 'kit' for a '94 G50 Q. Might work on the older models as well. Turbo needs a rebuild or replacement to fix the leak. Would include many, many parts, plumbing, turbo, BOV, wastegate, ECU, oil pump, FMIC, on and on. If I could find the right buyer, the turbo kit would likely fetch upwards of $2k+. Then sell the car as a NA again and would probably get $1500 - $2000 range. Would be quite a bit of work to pull out all the turbo stuff. Would be nice to find someone who wanted to restore it back to all it's glory or just wanted to pull the good parts off themselves.

You guys have any thoughts? Anyone considering turbo'ing their G50 that might be interested in the turbo as a kit? Anyone on here that may be interested in the entire car? Anyone local I would certainly be available for tech support and maybe even a little hands on assistance if they needed it...

Shane

Remind me where you're at, Shane?

Sadly, G50 prices have bottomed out. Even the 'faux-ballers' who used to buy them, throw some dubs on, and drive 'em 'til they die, are shying away. I looked at a pretty well-maintained 94 here in the Valley that was (I thought) priced right, and stayed on the market for months. Seller wound up donating it. :(

I'm out in Queen Creek, work near Sky Harbor. I know, the market sucks, been sitting on it for some time now. Maybe wishful thinking on what I think I'll get for it. Hate to part with it, it's been such a huge part of me for so long and was a fun project. At the same time, I hate seeing it everyday sitting there collecting dust. Maybe I need to get myself a warehouse and start a car collection/museum, lol.

Hey Shane - Gimme a shout this week? I'm eager to see the Q, and I may know someone with some interest.

How is the car condition wise?? I'm assuming since it's an AZ car it's got no rust... Any other issues of note?

Sorry for the lack of response guys. Didn't check back for a few weeks. Made a 23 minute video walking around the Q as it currently is talking about issues, features, and overall condition.

Greg, sorry I missed that post. I rarely drive it very far now, my work is about a 75 mile round trip so I haven't taken it in for a while now. Not that it won't make it, I just have a couple other cars I prefer to use for the long commute. If you still want to have a look or your prospect wants to have a look I can bring it in sometime. Been busy and I travel often for work.
