Alrighty I know you guys get these type posts all the time but I searched and I can't find them. Well I am still a newbie even though I post once and a while if I need to know something.

So heres my car

159,800 Miles KUMHO ECSTA Supra 40 series17 inch Motegi MR7 rimsPioneer CD player4 Sony Xplod 6.5 inch speakersNismo Shift Knob

I wanted to know what I should do with my money. I am not really good at this and on the top of my list was getting a new suspension b/c my car is not all that stable right now.

So if your bored or something and feel like listing or you have it in your car and you like it a lot could you just give me some advice?

Car: installing stereo systems and minor performance upgrades

Post

depends on how you wanna set your car up. Dragster, AutoX, Drift, Straight Pimpn, Ricer. So many options.

Me I love every aspect of music so my first main priority is a nice sounding and showy system. When i get a full time nice paying job first thing is rims and tires, suspension, then Ka-t, finishing up with misc suspension and brake components, and lastly minor body kit and paintjob. Do what you please with your car, don't let anyone say somethign isn't cool or is ricer, Its your car, Your money, Enjoy your 240 I know I have.

Noticed your headlights are alil yellow you can fix that up cheap with some 1500 and 2000 grit sand paper and some water. Wet sand them till the yellow is off then put some polish and wax on them and they'll look almost as good as new. If you've able to get to a buffing wheel and some ultra fine block rubbing compound(comes in various colors red, green, blue, i used red 4000grit i believe to clear up plexi, going to try the green 3000grit soon) buff the lenses out with it instead of the polish and wax and they'll look mint.

My .02 cents:

Yeah, suspension. With those rims, she needs to sit just a tad lower. Rims look good thou. Then buy your self a nice turbo kit. You would probally have enough to get a good exhaust.

There is always the brake upgrade. Going fast is fun, but being able to stop aint bad either.

Or you could get a nice moderate body kit, nothing ricey. (If that is your thing.) A nice nitrous system, and exhaust. Along with the the suspension, of course.

Like Loveless said, you can get an SR, or CA swap. Or maybe an RB. Haven't checked the price on RB swaps lately.

Anyway, just throwing out ideals.

^I agree. After you get new rims sell your old ones to cover the cost of your new suspension, the 4x4 look isn't cool on 240's.

you can have a pretty nice ka-t setup for 2500spend the rest on LSD, coilovers + the rest of suspensions, some nice wheels with good offset and width, tires, and If you still have some left overs, go buy a cheap dailydriver car with a working A/C.

hmm..well.. those are actually what I would do if I have 7g lol

those rims are just fine, but if you get tired of them chuck em last, suspension and brakes first then start to fix the car up for turbo :D:)

Import a wife. You can probably get a pretty decent one for that price.

I'm in the same boat, I'll have about 6G's or so. I think I'm going to do the SR swap. I was thinking maybe body work however, I have the same champagne gold zenki, and rust is building by the rear wheel wells D:

Alright I made up my mind. I will be upgrading the suspensionAnd getting a S15 conversion kit (if anyone knows a good place to get it in florida tell me)Some New RimsThats if I decide to. I am really pulled between upgrading my car or getting a motorcycle. What I really want to do is get an Infiniti G35 coupe but cant afford it. If you were in my shoes would you save the $7000 and keep saving till you are able to get the G35? Or would you say **** making more payments since my car is paid for and just Slowly hook up your 240sx? Or just get a Yamaha R1 and keep your car how it is?

That all depends on what you want to do. If you see yourself keeping the car around as a project car or not. If not, then keep saving and get the G35 or the R1.

either swap the engine or rebuild the KA, better to have the car around for a while then do all this stuff to it and have it die from old age and be left with less options later, but do what you think is best.

i know i know, this thread is kinda old, but i cant help but give my 2 cents...

tein hes - 1200stage 3 clutch - 300fidanza flywheel - 300lightened driveshaft - 300underdrive pulley - 300?z brakes (front/rear) w/ MC - 1500?kaaz 2way lsd - 800blitz nur spec exhaust - 500t03/t04 hybrid - 400revhard manifold - 300safc - 300avc-r - 300the rest - pipes, hoses, tapping feed/return line, whatever the hell else is needed =)

if you do this, (which i doubt you will) dont run over 4 psi, bc i dont think that turbo kit is very safe =O

i say again that if you put that kind of money into an old motor your going to regret it later unless you can come up with the money again.
