SO per my last post and had to do the water pump on my 94 sentra ga16de with auto transmission and after reading a few posts it seems as though replacing the timing chain tensioners and guides while I had half the front apart for the water pump was a good idea. I did this and once I got it back together a rattle/chain noise developed at startup. To make a long story short i couldnt find anything wrong with the upper tensioner and the timing chain cover was such a pain in the butt to take apart and work on with the motor in the car that I decided to drop the motor and trans so I had room to work and could make sure I got the cover and all seals correctly replaced so I don't have to worry about having to do it again.
NOw my question is...I have the motor and transmission out of the car. Car has 135,000 miles on it.
What else should I do to the motor or transmission while I have it out to ensure I get a lot of miles out of it before having to do this again?!!!
It has a new
water pump,
upper and lower tensioners,
left timing chain guide,
crank seal
Anything else that I should do to the motor or transmission while it is out I want to do now. Or for that matter if there is anything I should do to the rest of the car while I have a lot of room in the engine compartment I want to do as well!!!!
All suggestions are very appreciatied!!!
Thanks Guys...and Gals?!
