I'm in the same boat...

I'm looking for a Onyx Blue/Black 6-Speed SL with or without the conveinience option and I've struck out searching the entire state. I found a S model with the 6-speed in the color I want with the power package but there are features I really want in the SL.

There was a onyx blue and red one at two dealerships in Florida and my dealer thought he could trade for them, they wouldn't trade and they have since sold. I was then told my dealership is getting a red SL with what I want so I went today to put money down and it turns out it was a CVT loaded at like $19k; no thanks...

So I'll just continue my search and hope a dealership somewhere get's something in stock soon! I would like one before Christmas for a drive to NY from Florida.

So we'll see.... I definitely hope Nissan starts pushing these out faster than they are!

Your best shot of getting what you want will be to go ahead and order one. Make sure you get something in writing. You do this so you don't have to worry about the car you ordered ending up disappearing (being sold to someone else). Right now this is pretty much the only way you're going to get what you want. You can luck out and happen to find something on a dealers lot that matches everything you want, but the chances are low. Don't be affraid to look at dealers outside of your area. A short 50 mile drive may get you a better response on turn around time for ordering. Contact dealers internet departments to get the best quotes up front.

Yes, do the dealer search and look for dealers within 100 miles. I've searched the entire state of Florida and was very willing to drive anywhere to get a Versa as long as they took a trade in on my crappy 95 Geo hahahaha, my local dealership is giving me $500. I assume that's the minimum they give for any car so I assume any dealership would give me the same.

Hope you have luck! I'm tempted to just put in a order but they said the wait would most likely go into the new year.... I would much rather just search inventory around the state and hope to luck out. I'm going to guess when the new year comes along, inventories will be a little more stocked anyway; I don't feel like putting down $500 and being obligated when I can hopefully luck out and find one elsewhere.

This is all disappointing. There are Versas all around here. The Local in this city has two on the lot and they have been there for week or more. The next dealer in the town west has two (or did earlier in the week) The latter had two Versa's, SL, with all the goodies for almost two weeks before they sold.

All the post so far seem to be from far off and the drive would not make it worth it. I'm in the West Texas area.

You're making me jealous! My local dealer has 5 S Models on the lot with power packages but I really want the SL (plus they were all automatics).

Every dealer I've talked to (a lot!) has said these are the hottest thing since sliced bread and it's a crap shoot at when any will be arriving.

No dangling the carrot in front of the poor guy!

The guy at the dealer yesterday said he might put his Versas on ebay to try to reach a wider range of people looking for Versas. Too bad the idiot kept ignoring me when I told him noone would buy them because all 3 he had were S automatics.

There are more Versas available around here now. Most are still S automatics, but there are FINALLY a few S manuals available. Not a single SL within 50 miles. Expanding my search to 100 miles reveals 2 more S manuals... for a total of 3 S automatics and 5 S manuals, 0 SL within 100 miles of Seattle.

Not pretty.

Yea ive searched 100 miles of my area, and then i put in my old NJ zip code and did the same thing, basically covering VA, MD, CT, NY, and NJ and NOTHING!!! Soooo it looks like im settling for Black/w Beige interior...definitly disappointed, but i'm not waitin another 3 months for the one I want to be ordered.... In your opinions, should i go with the SuperBlack w/Beige interior or the Magnetic Gray w/Charcoal interior?? Thanx!

My grandfather owns a Nissan dealership and I was supposed to get my Versa delivered on Oct. 20. However, Nissan pushed the time back to Nov. 20. So if the grandson of a dealership owner is having a hard time getting one, I'd imagine it's going to be really hard for just any joe off the street. It's Nissan's stupid supply shortage that's the problem. Sucks.

My Versa will be a Magnetic Gray SL w/convenience, audio, sunroof, CVT, Sirius. The wait is killing me!

That's rather interesting... so it's not just our imagination then.

I did a search in Colorado and from the 15 dealers, only 1 blue S auto. This includes the super dealerships of Autonation.

I must have been lucky when I got mine. There were 4 on site, & they were all there for a few weeks. I test drove mine & said maybe & walked away. The dealer called the next day and offered $700 off sticker. Couldn't say no to that. This was in late July.
