A webstore might not have the memory you want. HyperX is good compared to normal memory, but is not close to the standards I have. I build my own computers and make sure I get the best for my money. If you check out the benchmarks for HyperX in comparison to another company, o say OCZ, you will clearly see the difference. Also where are you reading your reviews? The two sites I listed are professional people getting paid to "burn" test these memories. Basically they take them to there max and record the results. The memory I have in my computer is $400 and it'll smoke any HyperX memory you compare it with. To top it off, I got it for free from winning a competition. So that is the kind of memory I am used to. I ask you if you know about computers because if you do, you might be able to tell us what components you have and we can give you some suggestions based on that. If you have a really good computer and throw HyperX in, that will only create a bottleneck at the memory. If you have a decent computer, HyperX will do just fine. Just like in cars, you wouldn't want to have a 1000hp car with stock brakes nor 3" exhaust with stock engine. Its a matter of balance.w1ngzer0 wrote:it shouldn't matter what kind of memory i want. A webstore will have a list of memory. Hyper X is not compusa quality. Its made by kingston. I don't know where you get your information from but there has been endless possitive reviews on the hyper x memory.
And it's i have no idea not know.
That is because you are not into computers like I am. Just because you have never heard of it doesn't mean its not well known to professionals. Look up OCZ technology and you'll see what I mean. Actually, OCZ is more well known than Geil or Mushkin. Have you heard of those? Perfect example of why popular does not equate to good is the brand Bose. Why Bose sucks. Also if you want reliablity why would you go with Kingston? None of the brands I listed are "random." If you want just a store go to newegg. If you have never heard of them, I suggest you don't install the memory yourself. You might fry your whole computer. If you don't want to take advice at least take this one: ground yourself before touching anything in your case.w1ngzer0 wrote:i don't want to spend $400 on just memory. I don't need to give you my stats. Like i said im not asking for opinons. I am asking for a good store.
I rather have a company that is known for relibitlity then go with some random brand. I have never herd of OCZ in my life. Thats like buying a part from a wholesale store like autozone. You have no idea what quality your getting.
I guess I missed out on this, but I can highly recommend Newegg. It's just about the only place I shop for computer stuff anymore. My dad has used Googlegear (or whatever the hell it's called now) in the past and liked them, but has since switched to Newegg.themadscientist wrote:Newegg. three clicks and there it ishttp://www.newegg.com/app/View...epa=0
When I built my computer I ordered a lot of stuff from them (motherboard, CPU, HDD, and video card.) I ordered them on a Monday and received them the later that week, I think it was a Thursday or Friday. It was free shipping as well. Newegg is also a very good store, I have ordered from them too. Those two places are the only stores I'd buy computer parts from online.w1ngzer0 wrote:yah badmojo. Goodgear is now zipzoomfly. They suck. I ordered my memory from them and they "fake" shipped it so they could get my money. Then when i call them "oh it's on backorder" ............................
