I'm going to disagree with this one. After years of spring/strut setups on both s13 and s14... I can say I'm tired of unsightly wheel gap and coilovers are great for increasing your car's aesthetic appeal.
Yes, coilovers were originally designed for racing applications. But thankfully now, there are applications designed for those of us who have come to the realization that their car will probably never see much track time at all. These applications allow us to find a happy medium between looks and performance.
I say get a good quality, entry level coilover kit and set it up to as best as you can. I'm not for slamming, but hey... whatever floats your boat.
