What to do?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Got a 93 240sx. Dont know if sr20 or rb25 is best. Looking to spend $10,000 +-1500, get 350whp or more. What do you suggest

hrm you could probably get both engines to 350whp for that but the rb25 will be cheaper cause the displacement. rb25 will be more initially because you need mounts and other things, but in the end it should end up cheaper. there both pretty different engines, depends what you want. if your just going for power I'd go with the rb25, its a great engine for some reason i like it more than sr's, maybe cause its iron and has a timing belt.

SR, youll spend a ton less money getting it to 350

consider you buy all the add ons for both engines, obviously SR is cheaper, and its a cheaper swap.

rb = x 6sr = x 4

don't learn the hard way, do suspension!! but KAT is the way to be...i did the rb25 and now i got problems...i went through mckinney and paid money out my ***...13k for everything...only at like 250rwhp and I got a 3 amp draw...screw the bull crap...a 93 ka24de has 8.6 compression and an iron block, only .1 litre less...and far less expensive...the only thing that will go is pistons at like 12-14lbs of boost...you don't have to do no wiring like mckinney messin up ur knock sensor wiring, maybe assisting in my 3 amp draw. having to hook up electrical fans to the rb cause the motors to big maybe causing a 3 amp draw. any ideas on a 3 amp draw? back to the ka, all you gotta do is change the timing chain and your gud 2 GO!!

P.S. 3 amp draw=DED BAT-R-EE

correction ka24de has a 9.5:1 cr, the single cam had a 8.5:1.
