So here is the deal... in a couple of months I will have about $1k spending money. after that I will have roughly $150 a month of spending money. My car is pretty much stock. I have taken care of the general maintenance and it runs good now. My delema is that I don't know where to go next...

Really what it comes down to is that I will have the money straight up to buy some coilovers really soon here. I am not gonna buy really nice ones but something between $1-1.2k would be good enough for me to have some fun with...

But then I think, $1.2k, just a few more months and I could have an sr20. If I went this route the engine would sit in my garage for a few more months as I collected the various general replacements and upgrades that I would want for it as it is easier to work on the engine outside of the bay... so really we are looking at probably a year before I could have it installed. And then another six months after that before I could have coilovers to compliment the newfound power.

But if I bought coilovers first... It would take me so long to save up for the sr20... I would probably be dead by the time I had the money...

Why the hell do I like cars again?

Suspension before motor... SR first was my mistake. I do love it though.

Unless it's gonna be on the track often, just do the swap and get a nice spring/strut combo.

Coilovers suck on the street compared to a normal car. They get annoying and are overrated as people just use them to lower their car, when they're meant for the track.

I sort of agree with you... but my research has shown me that a good shocks/struts/springs combo that wont blow fast will cost me almost as much as I would want to pay for coils... and they would be harder to install... and I would get disrespect all over the forums ... + I may autox this summer... I am still undecided as this is my dd and if I get a little too excited on the track I may end up riding my bike to work
