So... My KA has the usual upgrades such as Injen Intake, Hot Shot Headers, Bosh platinume +4 plugs and wires, nismo thermostate, and the Z 32 fuel filter. Im lookin at about an extra 300 bucks and i want to get some more upgrades under the hood, but im kinda stuck cus im not sure what else to do. I am thinkin about a Max ground Wire Kit which is about $100 with tax. So i'll have about $200. ANY SUGGESTIONS? I would really be helpful if you guys could weigh in on this for m

Is your car running okay with the Bosch plugs? Usually Bosch plugs wont mix well with Nissans/imports. When you switch them out you may want to consider switching to NGK's.

But as for your dilemma, how about an electric fan? or pullies? or both? they would compliment your engine nicely.

thats what i heard about the Bosh plugs as well, but the engine Runs great with them. they have been in my car since i bought it almost 4 years ago. It was the first thing i did and I can really feel the spark from first to second. The car reacts great with them. no problems yet.

if you already have a tip on your car you can go 2 a muffler shop and get 2.5 put on for about $120. think about an aftermarket pulley for about $180. I'm running Nologys on my 240sx and can't really tell so don't spent more than $60 on wires....

only basic upgrade you seem to be missing is a catback exhaust... you should get a hiflow cat too...

i'm thinking about hollowin by cat. and then puttin some round tubing in it...i'll put it on and it will pass like a cat. but won't have the hollow sound...so it is kinda like a test pipe

you could do that but what round tubing are you talking about

i suggest you get an exhaust.. exhaust//intake is usually the first thing people do... other than that you shouldn't worry about your engine... id suggest working on your suspension next

So your only upgrades are a header and intake.

Hint: the Z32 fuel filter, bosch plugs/wires and nismo thermostat will not enhance your performance in any way. Neither will a ground wire kit.

Instead of worrying about "how many mods you have under the hood" or whatever, try doing some research into what will actually improve the performance of your vehicle.

no he is saying run the pipe through the cat, after he guts it

i wouldn't even waste my time doing this because it really shouldnt make that much of a difference in sound or power from a testpipe-style cat, or a gutted one. the only advanteage you are making is now you have a test-pipe that appears to be a cat, because its illegal to remove a functioning cat from a car

i would buy an exhaust and a testpipe, easily done for 300 bones at a local shop.

Or if you are particularily ingeneous you can try this. i would do it but i dont have the money, even though its well under 100 dollars

mr gasket sells a 2in manual cut out for 42 or 46 bucks. its a straight 2in pipe with another pipe coming off at an angle, and it have a valve/cutout that is operated by a lever-like thing. Now combine this with a 2in test pipe, and then just add a turn down for the exhaust exit.

the only draw back is i would rather have a 3in, but i cant find an affordable manual one. all seem to be electric and in the 150+ range. These are mostly muscle items, but even APEXi makes an electric one. However, APEXi's is not the same, its basicly a pipe with the cutout in your testpipe, so it only restricts overall exhaust gas flow. However for less than 80s and a little welding you can have a testpipe that either goes to a stock exhaust, or nothing at all...

i just want someone to do it, or send me 80 dollars so i can make mine....

i'd advice ya to replace those bosch platium +4, as there has been reports of some of the tips breaking and damagin the engine.

you could get an exhaust from a muffler shop with a magnaflow or other brand muffler for about $200 or so, that should help the engine breath better, try to get something with a resonator unless you want to wear ear plugs.

dont worry about insanity, ignore him. As for upgrades, im pretty much equal to you, but i do have an exhaust system. If I were you id buy an exhaust system, a good one too. Im not sure about the ground wire kits though, not sure theyd work. What about rebuilding the engine if it has high kilometers and doing a port and polish, or a port matching job?Good luck with the project though, keep us posted on it too!
