What to do after swap

Im interested in doing a sr20det swap into my 91 s13 but what i was wondering is if there is places that will buy your old KA after a swap. Like is there a place that buys old engines and rebuilds them or is there a place to get rid of your old ka

Many people a willing to shell out a few hundred for the motor/trans and ecu usually. Price depends on mileage, condition and year. Thats why we have a parts/equiptment for sale section.

but my **** has like 180000 miles u cant really do any thing with it unless u rebuild it

Is the compression good? Also sounds like a good canidate for a KA-T forged rebuild.

oh ya it runs great i just dont wouldnt put any thing on it just because of how much miles are on it

Don't let miles scare you. My friend has a KA-T running around with 208K. I had a solid motor with 187K on it with really good compression still. I had 140K on my KA when I turboed it and I'm still running stock headgasket.

i think if you have a shop do the swap for you then they take the old engine

if you do it yourself get a comp test to make sure its good then sell it

It depends on what shop does the swap. Phase 2 gave me all my stuff back. Just make sure you let them know you want it back. Even with high mileage you can still get $100 for a motor. just post on b/s/t forum and somebody is bound to take it off your hands. Just don't let it end up in the dumpster.

how much u think for a ka24de automatic with 65k miles on from a 98 SE with ecu and junk stuff after the swap?

I don't want my friend to over payed for it... i told him to ask over here but that guy dont post a chit on any form at all his a loner....lol

Dont ask why he want to buy auto..lol its going to be build and get rid of the trans after.
