I'm wondering what everone has done for intercooler piping? Most of the car pics I find have custom pipes bent up. I'm wondering if there is a way to adapt SR pipes or can I buy a kit from someone? I'd rather not hack something together with JC whitney piping.

Whats the final word with motor mounts. Other threads say SR mounts fit but will raise the motor 1". Is this true? Will the hood still close?

Oh, prolly needs another topic but does anyone know the part number for an exedy clutch to fit the CA motor? I'd like to see if clutchcityonline.com can source one for me.

Thanks,-Cybin

Stock CA IC pipes work of course. SR hot pipe fits no problems, but the cold pipe needs some work so I just found a CA coldpipe and called it a day. I am getting some custom ones fitted up. Of course if you are talking about FMIC (I have a ARC SMIC so I can use stock pipes) you apparently have to do a bit of work on the hotpipe as the TB on a SR is no where near the TB on a CA. Motormounts are no biggie. Use your KA ones. That is what I did. SR ones will work, but put the valve covers rubbing on the hood apparently.

I'm using an S14 blitz hotpipe. (for front mount) Nothing is going to fit perfect unless you buy a kit made for the ca or do it yourself. On the cold side I am using ABS plastic pipes from Home Depot (melting point around 800*). It took about 1 ft straight pipe, 2 90* bends, 1 45* bend, some ABS cement, a rubber coupler or two and that's it. It's good for a temporary solution, but the best part about it is when I decide to switch to metal I'll just copy the pieces I already have setup to work.

I'm selling my FMIC setup. It comes with ALL of the intercooler piping (That means the hotpipe too), all of the couplings, and all of the clamps. You'll have to cut a hole in the battery tray and trim the bumper, but that took me all of about 10 min with a drill and a reciprocating saw. It is used, but only for about 6 months. It has an HKS SSQV BOV on it right now. I paid $600 for the intercooler and $125 for the BOV. (That means I've got $725 into it). I'd like to get $550 for it. This was GREAT intercooler and kept the air very cold going into the motor. (The cold pipe would actually get condensation on it in the winter) The reason I'm selling it is because I'm wanting to do something a little different with my intercooler setup and I no longer need this. I'll post some links with pics here in a second...

Where r u located? I live in s. florida and i know a guy thats great at doing pipes.

I started with crimped exhaust pipes and a FMIC supra intercooler. Now he's gonna do pre-bent (mandrel) aluminum piping and a new(used) aluminum intercooler SCC style. Meaning move the radiator back a couple inches and stick the intercooler infront of the rad. cant wait till its done. No one will know what under the hood

that would ROCK. i WANT to run a skyline gtr core and some custom aluminum piping, but I don't know anyone local who's good with aluminum.... think you could put me in touch with this guy?

I am going to Gotham Racing in January for some tuning and some fab work (turbo inlet duct, intercooler pipes, etc) Quoted me $250 for the pipes in aluminum. That puts me at $500 for my SMIC. Good thing that this is an ARC bar and plate core so IMHO it is money well spent...

Funny seems like we are all in the same boat. Everyone has to make up a set. I guess I'll check around my city to see if any of the exhaust shops can bend alum. pipes. Maybe I can get a deal.

Sean - Yes, I would be willing to do that, but the HKS aluminum flange is already welded onto the cold pipe right infront of the TB. You could have it cut off and covered over pretty easily though. That was the reason that I was going to sell it w/the BOV. I still want that BOV, but I'm going to recirc it and since I already had the flange welded on and the BOV installed I just decided to try and sell it with the BOV and then get another one. You know my email Sean, so email me if you want to do do this.

F3600 - If Sean isn't wanting the whole kit, then yes, I would be willing to do that also.

And just to clarify, this kit fits very well. I didn't have to cut any of the piping to make it fit. It is actually for an S14 Silvia, which is why the cold pipe fits. So to reiderate, this is a complete kit with ALL of the piping, couplings, clamps, and HKS SSQV BOV w/the flange welded onto the cold pipe right infront of the throttle body. The ONLY thing you will have to do to make this work is to trim the bumper and cut a hole in the batter tray. Almost ALL FMIC intercooler setups have to do this so it's not uncommon or something you won't run into with another kit.

Hey ryan,

if others want it now, go for it... i just bought my tickets to Europe for my summer vacation, and that blew almost a grand out of my bank account ! its going to be afew weeks before it recovers enough to even consider buying an intercooler!

You're the only one who's shown any intrest in it so far. I haven't been trying to sell it actively though. I don't have any good pictures of it, so I hadn't put a whole lot of effort into it yet.
