what to buy before sr20

I'm buying a sr20 in feb and I wanted to replace alot of stuff until then what should I replace that will still work with an sr?

Id stick with the basics unless your loaded.

Do timing chainwater pumpthermostatoil pumpplugs/wires

Id have to say the best bang for the buck for a stock SR20 is gona have to be a front mount intercooler.

I'd go ahead and put in a high flow fuel pump.I got the tomei fuel pump from splparts.com. it came with a pressure regulator so i didn't have to run an adjustable one and fuss with that.the pump is a little pricey, but it is well worth it. it flows great and is rock solid reliable.

480sx, i think the original poster was asking about what else he could do to his car that would still be compatable with the sr, but you're right on the money with replacing those items on the SR before installing it into your car.

honestly, besides the fuel pump, there's not too much you can do to the KA that will carry over to the SR. i'd just swap one in, stock as it comes, get it to run right first and then worry about modding it.

Ahh your right that didnt register at all.

Bronze is right though, not much on the engine is compatable with each other, save the fuel rail and injectors. Dont worry about buying anything for the KA if your going to be doing the swap. I would really hate it if you bought all that stuff for the ka cuz of what i said lmao.

As far as the clutch goes I was just going to get an Exedy OEM replacement clutch and run with that but I was just reading another thread and the guy basically said that he regretted getting that exact clutch with his SR swap. Should I just upgrade to the stage 2 or will the OEM suffice?

With clutch's, the beefier the better. You will never regret spending the extra cash on a nice clutch, believe me.
