What tire size to go with

I have a 2005 G35 sedan, the stock tire size is 215/55/17, I want to change the size I was thinking of either 225/50/17 or 235/50/17.My question is will the 235/50/17 fit without any problems I would like to go with the wider tire but want to make sure it will fit without rubbing.

I asked this question on the suspension, brake, rims & tire section and recieved one reply. I would like a few more just to be sure I will have no issues.

BTW... have you tried the tirerack website? I think you can play around with tire sizes there. They have a tire calculator or something.

I believe I was very thorough with my response. You would need 235/50R17. But not all 235 series tires are the same total width. Some are a little wider. From the Sedans I've seen at the dealer, no trouble with 225 series, and none so far with 235, but those have been when mounted on Gcoupe 17" wheels, with a bigger offset. 235 is the widest I would go on the 7" wheel.

235 is the widest you would want to go on the 7" rim. I still think thats pushing it. I ran 225/55/17s on my stock 17s.

How off was your speed reading? considering only close to half an inch overall diameter, and with a full sentence of mathematical calculationism, at an indicated 60mph you would actually be doing 62.8
