i have an S14 zenki with coilovers and some 17x9.5 +12 rims. right now i have 255/40/17 rt615's all the way around. i want to stretch some new tires and slam my car. im thinking either 235/40/17 or 225/45/17? which would be better? i have all fenders rolled and no pull. any advice?

Awww poo. You're getting rid of the exact setup that I'm wanting for my s13.

This may help: http://www.rimtuck.com/setup.php?id=384

im just getting sick of the meatty tire look. i dont autocross is enough to keep the wide tires. i want it to look cleaner now. maybe ill do the 235/40's those 225's look a little funny, but maybe its because he has only a little bit of camber

i also agree with researching with rimtuck and copying and pasting their set up onto your car

that offset is pretty low, with about -2.5 degrees camber you could use a 235 40 rear would actually probably be a good stretch lol nice call

and with the fronts 225 or 215 40 lol

That's a good point you've got there. I don't auto-x my s13 much either. I'm planning on getting a set of P45R/Grids in 17x9.5+12 all around too. I figure I'll start out with 235/40/17 tires for easy fitment at first and as I start making more power and racing more often, I start working my fenders to fit 255/40/17's all around.

But I'll never get tired of the meaty tire look. I'm soooo inspired by this pic:

17x9.5 with 255/40's all around. I want my s13's setup to look just like that. To me, it says: "That car ain't playing around!"

there isnt anyting wrong with having some meat!

almost every single option video ive ever seen...the "fitment" sucks balls, but nobody can deny the speed of an amuse s2000 on the touge or the kei office s15 in drifting

play up to your needs, if you dont autox enough to keep them then stretch them and look ballin lol

if you do, could aways pick up another set down the line when funds permit and get meaty good tires for those for the track days...ballin

good luck with the search

One thing I'm convinced of: I only ever want to drive cars that allow for 17's to be the optimal wheel size! Tire selection for wide rubber in 16's suckballs and tires for 18's+ are expensive as hell! And heavier!

Cheap priced, wide tires FTW!

tomorrow im going to be test fitting a 225/45/17 admiral tire at work on one of my Fd up wheels to see how it looks. if i dont like it im going to look at a 235/40 or 45. i cant decided between the federal 595 or the falken ziex 512. in 235/40 the 595's are $80 a tire. and the admirals are $70ish
