For anyone interested in applying window tint on your front windows (at least here in the U.S.) I believe it varies by state. But, as I was told by my master tint applicator at the custom shop I frequent, whatever the legal limit is still makes it illegal for you to have the tint on your front windows. Here's why: let's say in Md/Va (like me) the legal limit is 35%. Our windows have a clear solar tint applied from the factory to block out as much UV rays as possible, to the degree of 2-3%. So even if you applied 35% on your front windows, it would end up realistically being 32-33%...thus putting it under the legal limit. But anyways, back to the topic at hand: my window tint on the front is 20% I believe; matches my back windows rather well IMO.
