Ok so i had an erratic idle and was told that the car i bought needed an iacv. I changed it today and its still doing it just not as bad.. It idles at about 1100 when in park sometimes. The idle usually only jumps when in drive or reverse. What else can cause this? Also it has no power on takeoff and at about 1300-1800. Is there somekind of procedure to reset the idle?.. When I replaced the valve i noticed that the adjustment was shut completely and the new one is open about a quarter of the way. I'm thinkin that the iacv isnt the problem at all..Any suggestions???? please I need some help

Here's the answer you'll get if you searched, because we spew it out to everyone

Check your MAF, your TPS, air filter, spark plugs (and coils).

Are there any CEL codes?

Well I went to see my cousin who is a tech at a nissan dealership around where i live and had him hook up the computer to it. He came up with a knock sensor code and told me that it could cause a poor hesitation. Anyone else had a bad knock sensor and had poor performance?

Not to be rude, but a search would yield answers to all of your questions.

To answer your question, yes. A worn out knock sensor can pickup slight vibrations and report them as knock which makes the ECU retard timing.

I've never heard of jumpy idle from a knock sensor though.
