WHAT the hell is

i was searching for a while on this forums and on the internet and i am confussed as the dumbest person alive.If someone PLEASE can write a proper, or direct me to a link what eprom or all those c256 thingy are.I know they program the ecu chip but how, what do i need to buy(in the stupidest terms) and how to make it work?

the M27C256 IS the ecu chip ( well it is the EPROM....electronically reprogramable Read only memory )it is the chip that stores all the fuel/ign maps e.t.c..you need to buy the M27C256 ( or a M27C128 is the factory chip...but quite hard to get nowadays....and the 256 one works just the same )then get it "programmed" ( data written to it ). unsolder the factory EPROM chip, solder in a 28 pin IC socket so that you can pull your new EPROM in and out faster for ease of prgramming.

I'd suggest that you get someone else to do this for you if you are having trouble understanding how it works

Can someone please email me either a stock or modified ca18det.bin file because when i try to burn my chips, im using a file i got froma a site that is 160k, and it just wont burn. But if i read the chip, then reburn it, it has no problems.
