I know my Toshiba Laptop is old but it has these great Harmon Kardon speakers that would blow away the sound of today's laptops. It cost around $2600 back in the day. Moreover, the Pentium 4-m 2.0 ghz should be enough for regular web surfing. It has more power than the centrinos and definitely more power than the atom on those netbooks.
Don't get me started on bloatware. I tweaked the hell out of the Toshiba to get the best performance. Yes, I was the type to visit TweakXP and use to tweak the data packets back when I used 56k. I know about unistalling extra crap and disabling services at administrative tools, and junk at startup, defrag, cleanup, etc.
Also use Sybot & spywareblaster, online scanners.
As earlier stated, it was mentioned that PII's on a dial up connection still work. Now that brings me back to the day of my Packard Bell with my window 98 upgrade from win 95. If those work and they are like 15 yr old technology with dial up no less ......then my 2002 Toshiba laptop on the Fios network should too. Well anyways, here is the error that is occuring if the website engineers or dept. can do anything.
I still like the Toshiba and would like to use it still. But time marches on and this includes technology. What sucks was after buying my Quadcore laptop, 31 days later the I7 laptop came out.
