I dont drag the J but I helped my bro drag a hot rod camaro back in the day . (High 9's)Error #1 is spinning the tires .Even the 2000 HP rods limit that by letting the clutch slip.If wot spins the tire then you need to feather into wot .I used to have the time loss calculation for every revolution the tire spins but thats long gone in the old brain archives .Traction is the battle you face amigo. And FYI the caps lock gave me a headache.

PS. We used to do a bleach burn out before the run , not sure if they do that these days .

^^^ 100% correct.

dont rev it up all the way .... try revving to like 3,000 rpm to eliminate a long burnout, and then after the wheels catch pedal to the floor.

i hate to break it to ya, but in order to get the j30 to go below like a 14.5 you will be spending tons and tons of $$$. MY suggestion to you is, if you want a 13 second car, and still want a nissan, look into getting a 240sx, and maby get a turbo for the KA24 engine, or even an sr20det. 240's are sweet and cheaper and more universal and trying to make a j30 do 13's.

and for the eprom, you are SOL unless you use a 300zx ecu which may just cause problems for you in the future.got any pics of your intake set-up?

from what i understand the Differntial from a 300zx may work on the j30, do a search im sure you can find out somthing because i know we have talked about it before.

if you have the $$ look on stillen and buy the 300z Plenlum, and while thats off you can get some new pistons and ect. Also look into the Cam gears. Only if your into ripping your engine completly apart

ps. you can gain 5 hp by eliminating the LOL ' s and the multiple exclimation points

I don't think you will ever get to see even high 13's without nitrous (NOS is just the brand name) and I predict that you won't do it even with the nitrous.

You would need to hook up perfect (which it doesn't sound like you are doing) and still have over 350 hp to get to the mid 13's. That's a HUGE amount of nitrous.

I just want to know how you get the tires to spin out of the hole? The only time my J will spin is in the rain or on sand/gravel.

ok im just on goodyear street tires size 225 55 16s and only running 28 pounds psi in them and still spining as for how im spining thats simple when i stag for the lights i rev up to abought 4 1/2 grand and hit the gas to the floor and everyone says im spining for a good 2 to 3 car lenghs before i hook up!!!! im wondering if i go to a set of rims and tires like i did in the old days with the mustangs and camaros and go like 16s front and wide 18s in the rear !!!! i dont know im pretty disapointed in the whole thing my grand prix 3.8 was geting high 14s stock with just a k&n intake and it was a heavier car????i very disapointed in the j to the point were i think i might get rid of it!!!! just wanted to have some fun but not look like a real dork doing it lol!!!!!

These things don't have a stall in them nor were they offered with a standard transmission. How are you getting the rpm's up to 4500 with it in gear? Are you in nuetral and then slaming it into gear? That would be a good reason you are spinning the tires for so long.

Are you reving it in neutral and then dropping it in drive? I hope not.

And no, the 16 inch tires with the taller sidewall will do better for drag. You can actually drop them down lower than 28. Probably around 20 psi.

You need to be launching so that you are barely breaking the tires loose. If that means less gas when starting then give it less gas. Wheel spin is hurting your time.

What were your 60' times? With wheel spin for 2 or 3 car lengths I bet they were 2.6 seconds or worse. You need to get the 60' time down to about 2.0 seconds for a rwd car on street tires and about 2.2 second 60' for a fwd on street tires. It just takes practice.

The Grand Prix GTis just a little lighter than the J30 and the GTP is just over the J30 according to edmunds.com. Did you have the GT or the GTP?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see any way to get a J30 into the low 14's or high 13's without spending ~$10k. And I'm almost positive it would either take a huge nitrous shot or some forced induction.

I'm also curious to know how you're launching (power break or neutral slam) to gett he car to spin that much for that far.
