Hey guys, long time reader, short term poster and as usual, need your help..

At what temperature does the stock safety ( aka limp yours *** home) map come in at ? As i was at the race track yesterday doing some assisted oversteer, and i kept hitting 90 degrees celcious... and after a few good laps, car started becoming very boggy, so i did 2 cool down laps, and got back on it, and she was fine and dandy.. what gives !!

All i could figure is that the safety map has come on due to the temps getting up there, and just telling me to back off for a while..

Thanks !

Pete

Even when I have overheated the motor, I have never had an issue with an ECU controlled limp mode. The ECU will go into limp if any of the checked sensors broken/bad, but not temps. More than likely it was heat soak that was your enemy.

Yea, it was probabally heat soaked and was maybe just barely knocking a little, which was making the ECU pull the timing back.

i have personally overheated the crap out of my CA and it never went into some funky mode. in fact it took me a long time to notice because the temp gauge wasnt working.
