What teh HEEZY is that sound?

For the last two or three weeks, I've been hearing a sound in my car. Usually when on the freeway cruising at around 75mph, my engine will drone much louder that it usually does for various amounts of time. Then it will return to normal, and then increase in sound. It's a loud droning sound that sounds similar to the sound of an intake, but its more obnoxious. What could it be? Intake manifold? Cooling fan? My cooling fan does sound like crap while the car idles, you can hear it from 15 feet away. It makes my engine sound like crap.

my car has been making noises, especially in reverse when cold. its from the engine bay, and its sumthing that the best is turning, because it goes it rythmn w/ the belt. its like a sqeeking, but its not always there. its annoying. it doesn't always happen either. i don't kno what the hey it is

In your case 95, its probably the belts, especially if its a squealing sound when you are moving the car. Usually when the car warms up the sound goes away? If so you probably just need to replace belt(s).

yes its the belts, i know it is. but the thing is, the belts are practically brand new. i had an oil leak around the oil pan gasket and i had the fixed, new oil sending unit put in, new belts, engine flush, etc etc done, when i bought my car. so i had all that fixed. this didn't start until about 5-6 months ago, and i've had the car since august of '01.

edit --- its an auto BTW, if you didn't know. and those belts were put on roughly about 2000 miles ago

Damn, I got no clue then...that sucks. Take it back to the place and be like "WHAT THE F*CK DID YOU SCREW UP ON!!" If you make a big enough scene, like scaring off customers and what not, they should be able to hook it up.

yes actuallytheres also kind of a jerking thats associated when that happensare you having that problem as well? perhaps we should look to see if nissan has performed any recalls regarding these problems?

i'd start with swapping out the transmission and diff fluids. redline

i could but i doubt it would work, just because i had this done about 8-10 months ago. i've only put 3000 miles on my car in a year and 3 months. but i have my license now so that number is going up. but i had that oil leak fixed and new belts put about about 2500 miles ago or sumthing like that. so i doubt they would do anything about it, just because they did it so long ago. probably don't remember me
