Hey there guys i am on the market for a new suspension for my 93 240sx.It looks like the previous owner (which did lots of cheapo upgrades on the car) Installed some Tenzo R springs in the rear, i really doubt they are tenzo r thg, maybe just so knock offs, with letters on them. Anyways it looks like they didn't replace the shocks, and as you can imagine they are blown, rears more than front. Anyways i've been reading the forums, and coilovers are just to over prized for me. I was thinking on going with, KYB AGX shocks, and Tanabe Springs. Any of you guys are running that set up, would you recommend it?Also is this a good combination, will it void KYB warranty? Or should i go with KYB set of shocks and springs. 541.00 USD I will be using the car as my daily driver, but i do want something stiffer than OEM. With a nice ride comfort, a 1 1/2 inch drop should be fine, i don't think i can go more than that, as i am sure the car would not make it on my driveway.

Any input would be highly appreciated!

I'm sure you'll be able to find lots of answers if you searched it.

But any aftermarket spring or coilover is going to be stiffer than oem. I'll tell you right now. You're not going to be fully satisfy with the look of your car on drop springs. If you're going to spend $541 anyways, I'd say save a little more and get a full set of coilovers. Megans or Stance. BTW, I'm running on STance and I daily drive my car.

Thanks for the input bud, nice ride.Well yeah megan coilvoers go for like 800.00 USD probably like less than 900.00 usd to my door.I couldn't find stance thg. TEIN basic also goes for the same as megan..So many brands it really gets confusing.

stances are probably the best bang for your buck. megans are ok. k-sports suck. tein basics suck even more.

I have Ksports. It was either them or some ****t* spring and shock combo. Plus I have adjustable damping, ride height, and front camber. The ride is not so bad in my opinion, but everyone is different. I run the front twice as stiff as the rear. Some guys act like any coilover will make thier kidneys bleed. Bull shi*. I bought my car for a reason and it wasn't the pillow-like ride quality.

KYBs are made to be used with stock height springs. Lowering 1.5" will shorten thier lifespan.

Are Ksport better than Cusco? Hell noAre Ksport better than spring/shock combo? Hell yes

I run K sports too.... They're not the best, I've ridden on way better (Apexi) but for the money I paid ($745 shipped) it will dessimate any spring/shock set-up. They are stiff and rebound sucks but they don't make your kidneys bleed. Like you I didn't buy my 240 for being a luxury crusier.

What's up now Adrian?

I cut my springs to the height I liked.....

I have the stock strut.

oh, and i accidentally cut the spring too much so I had to weld a piece back on. It sits relly kewl though.

Check my sig, its got gangsta stance.

You can find Stance on enjukuracing.com Hey and they're one of the sponsors too. So far I think they have the best pricing for Stance coilovers.

cutting your springs isn't kewl....especially when you weld a chunk back on, which basically puts a different heat treatment on the joining metal of the spring, which basically change the spring rate even more unpredictably then just cutting the spring.....I hope your were being sarcastic.

leonelrr: I bought spl's KTS coilovers for $1108 shipped, preload and heigth adjustable, and they rock!

eh... I'm kinda in the market for new coils myself, I'm thinking about selling mines. My old school HKS Hypermax II's dont have preload adjustment, and my cars pretty slammed... although people that's ridden in my car and other's with preload adjustment (I'd say names, but I dont know if they knows this, LOL) say that mine's are comfier than fuction forms and megans (that do have preload adj).

but anyways... I want Zeal

I've heard nothing but rave reviews about the tanabe sustec 5's. Me personally I want a set of Buddy Clubs.

well, I have no real complaints about mines, cept for the fact that the front dampers are a bitsh to adjust... I just wanna try something new. plus, the spring rates arent really as agressive as I'd want them to be.

Good coilovers will ride smooth even though thier spring rates are high. Case in point: Zeals, Tein Super Drifts, Buddy Cubs etc. Just because they are stiff doesn't mean they have to be jerky or bouncy and that they can't be smooth.
