Out of curiousity would any of you be willing to post round estimates of the money that you put into your suspension to get it where it is? I'm just a little curious... and am trying to debate whether or not to get struts and springs or to save a little bit more for some coilovers... I want adjustability but as I'm in college I don't have too much money and am just curious the cost to get you guys to the point that you are at now (and maybe how long you've been working on the suspension) hope that all goes well for you guys and your cars/projects!

a nice spring/shock combo wil cost about the same as an entry level coilover. mine was like500 for the struts and 250 for the springs, so thats

dampers/springs - 750sways - 200strut bars - 200tc rods - 150 (iirc)azenis - 280 (iirc)

$1580 total. give or take like 50 bucks or so.

I almost feel bad for what some people shell out on coilovers.

I'm on Mookeh Mk1 coilovers on my S14. Easily the best combination of price and quality. I'm sure everyone will knock them, simply because they don't cost 1 million dollars, but do some research on them and you will be pleasantly surprised Heck, I'm feeling nice today, so here you go lazy bastards, all the info you need

i bought my car in september.

silkroad rm/a8 coiovers, used 2 months old $800ebay front and rear strut tower bars about $50slp aluminum subframe bushings $65cusco 6 point rollcage slightly used $600pieced together my own 300z brake kit, 26mm cost me about $375

i still have to buy some random stuff, t/c rods, ruca's etc. but im definately glad i have been spending all my mod money on suspension instead of an sr swap, definately well worth it in my eyes.

I don't even have to do research on them to understand they aren't ideal at all. However I will not even get into this (unless you want to but heads that is ). I'm sure for the money they aren't too bad.

kyb agx ~360$ from ebay (NEW)Eibach pro-kit (they were free in the car, what a surprise)aluminum subframe bushings 60$MOOG sentra '93 RLCA balljoints 32$ for boththat's it...

I did manage to piece together a 4 corner z32 brake upgrade for less than 390$ however.

Future plans:s13 hicas rear sway bars13 convertible front sway bars13 hicas steering rack..or smaller steering wheel (whatever comes first).z31 clutch lsdpathfinder or xterra 4.36 ring and pinion (still need confirmation on fitment).z32 rear uprights, probably mated to z32 rear agx shocks. Apparently both shocks identical, but I can't imagine dampening being the same.

Wild things that I've contemplated and don't know whether they'll work or not:expanding the wheel base by using z32 rear subframe and front steering rack and suspension components.

I do not wish to "butt heads." I just want to show people that you don't have to dish out over $1000 to get some good coilovers. For the price, you can't beat them. You can even get them rebuilt here in California! And they come with a limited lifetime warranty! Tein, JIC, Apexi etc... can't do that. Ship your coilovers off to Japan and wait for months to get them back. I'm not saying they are the best coilovers by any means, but they are tested, the numbers are great, and best off all, they are affordable.

You don't have to send your coilovers to Japan to have them rebuilt.

I have seen no testing on the coilovers you mentioned, perhaps you can elaborate as to what sort of testing they have done and provide examples of such testing. Ie. shock dynos.

Yes the Rear R32 sway fits perfectly on the S13. I happened to come across one from a guy in Canada.

Oh and my costs...

coils 750tension rods 160front sway 200rear sway 125RUCA 325bushings around 100STBs around 225

I'd guess around $2,000 on this or so. This is my second car and 3 suspension setup though. (had sportlines and pro-kits before, and S-techs on this car when I bought it). So mine has been a long adventure.

I'm looking/thinking about getting an entry level coilover setup for my car... I'm thinking of either D2's or Mookeeh.... I am looking at spending around $800 for the setup... mybe a little more or less depending on my funds and any deals that might be going on... If anyone can give me some more specifics on coilovers that would be good quality and are in or near my price range I would greatly appreciate it!

Tein BasicsTein Camber plates

i am very pleased with my teins and they were a little under 800...ive drifted in events with them numerous times and also have the ****tiest roads ever in my area and they eat that up too.....have nothing bad to say about them, just that probably before or during this season id like to upgrade to something slightly harder than their 6f/6r(which is not bad) spring rates and definitely something dampening adjustable.....other than that theyre awesome and tough as nails so far....

Tried researching. Since you've researched already, tell me the following:

What type of internal mechanism is used to adjust the shocks?Does one knob adjust both rebound and compression? Can they be revalved to match different spring rates?

Tein FlexSPL RUCA's

I love it so far, I have the dampening set to what they recommend (which is the medium setting.) My old shocks had so much body roll the car felt like it was going to flip over if you cornered fast, I'm pretty sure they were blown, so I can't say if the results for you would be as noticable. They're not too stiff or too soft to me. There's a lot of really bad highways around me, any stiffer and I'd have no teeth. But when the road is smooth it feels great. Plus I can turn the dampening up for when I want to go autocrossing.
