As title says, what type of sr doesn't have the oil feed line coming from the exhaust side of the block. The one I just got, gets the oil feed from where they oil pressure sensor should be next to the oil filter. But, it has the oil return in the correct spot. It just seems odd and if any body knows any thing post up.

how about a picture of the valve cover?is it a turboed sr20de? or is the oil outlet blocked off?

or better yet, what letters are on the ECU that came with it?

here is a pic of the oil return, right where it should be. Not a tap into the oil pan. Something you would probably have to do with a sr20de that is turboed.

I bought the motor from a private seller, it has been rebuilt with a forged bottom end. Including; -Saenz custom connecting rods -ARP rod bolts -JE 8.5:1 forged pistons -Chromeoly/steel compression rings -Nissan Motorsports main bolts -ARP head studs -Metal headgasket. Also came with a cryotreated transmission. Didn't come with the cams, putting in HKS step1 256's. And here's a picture of my current setup just for hell of it, I installed myself so I have some knowledge or what the hell i'm doin yunno.

Yunno I was just looking at those pictures and I noticed that the block casting number says 65F and the head casting says 52F. So somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't a 65F a S14 Blacktop, and a 52F a S13 Redtop/Blacktop? I don't know, just let me know what you think guys.

Yes, the 65F block is the S14 block, and the 52F is the code for an S13 head.

You can verify this by comparing the differences between the motor mount brackets and the oil distribution blocks.

Here is my Blacktop S13 for reference. The stainless line is for my oil pressure gauge.

Cool at least I'm right about it being an s14 block.... But the s14 service manual I have shows the oil feed coming from the spot with nothing there. I guess I'll just run it from the other side, I'm pretty sure thats what the other guy did. Well anyway here's a bump for my new hood I just test fitted today.

If you bought this long block from a guy in Louisiana here's a link to the builder.I'd call him to find out what your dealing with. http://www.sportsnimports.com/...=sr20

did you check to see if it has the piston squirters when it was out? If they took the time to install those its all good (if it is an na block)

Yep.

If you drill and tap that blank you will hit the oil jacket, or you can just run it from the oil pressure fitting.

Looks like an Autometer 4 foot Stainless Steel Line kit. I got mine from Heavy Throttle.

As far as fittings I just remember ordering a bunch of stuff from http://mcmaster.com

Reading usually helps, anyway. I am tearing down the motor this weekend and I will know what I'm dealing with. Which is more than likely a N/T SR S14 bottom end with a S13 Turbo head. Just hope its got the piston jets.

I haven't tried to call the guy or anything, but I found that it's more than likely a N/T block. Not seeing piston oilers, but oh well. But it definately has JE 87MM pistons, custom rods with arp rod studs, and a metal headgasket. Looks real good inside. This weekend its going in. I'm throwing in some HKS 256 Cams, greddy style intake manifold (slightly ported), and a gt28rs. I need some more money than I'll upgrade the maf, injectors, and ecu; for some real power.

Well Day 1 has gone buy... Taking out wasn't too bad. Had it out really quick. Just a few hours. Almost took that long to get the hoist together, hehe. Now trying to get everything to work on the new motor has been tricky. Oh well its still fun and gonna fun to drive it.
