Budweiser, after assembling such a decent car like you did, I hope you are not serious about the denso iridium. After you buy those $49 spark plugs, I have a $10,000 AMC Gremlin that I would be happy to sell you (It's a steal). I'd like to go with stock heat range plugs, and I would also like to go something that costs less than $12.75 per spark plug. I assume my parts store doesnt carry parts meant for cars that were never sold in the U.S., so I'd like to know which part number will fit my application. I obviously know the thread size, but the correct reach is what I do not know. thanx

Well, when it comes to sparkplugs, you treat it like your oil. You don't go out and buy crappy 68 cent oil. If you truely invested in your motor, you would buy nice synthetic oil and such. Same goes for spark plugs. If you buy crappy spark plugs, then you end up losing power and gas mileage. Not only that, but the plugs will foul up quicker. 48.99 for those iridiums is a great deal. Many retailers sell a pack of four iridiums for 90+. If you still want weak plugs, go out and buy some 300zx turbo plugs. They should fit...

1994 Sentra SE-R plugs work as well if you want a less expensive stock replacement.

shouldn't the plugs on all SR20s be the same? there were plenty of US model nissans that used the SR20DE

All you need spark plugs to do is to CARRY A SPARK!It's pretty simple. You guys buying the Iridium plugs must be the same ones keeping Nology in business. Some people will believe anything I guess.

1994 Sentra SE-R.. wont just about any plug ment for an SR20DE work?

Despite what iceburgslim here says, plugs are important, and heat ranges do matter. BTW, what is the correct gap for a 'stock' Det?

I beileve NGK Iridium plugs for the SR20DE USDM cars such as the b15 Sentra SE cost only 6 bucks each.

They are iridium and they fit the SR engines. NGK Platinum costs about $2.

Guys,

Can we please focus on heat ranges? This is an important topic, and brand matters very little when compared with heat ranges and proper plug gap.

I'll check my FSM next time I'm near it and see if they have it in there. Everything else seems to be in there, along with the minimum 96, octane recommendation :(

I'm using NGK R Platinums from a 91 sentra ser and it stopped my backfiring. Gapped at .028, I got mines from Napa, they had it in stock. The platinums are actually more expensive than the Iridium plugs by $1. They quoted me for the platinums for I think $7 a peice and the iridium plugs for $6 a peice. I thought it was weird!

in japan, they use a different method to determine octane rating. 100 octane in the US > 100 octane in Japan

.022 DONT use platnum with turbo! I use ngk regular copper 1 steep colder running an s13 sr in my s14 @ 14 psi on my new s15 turbo. Your not saposto gap platnum and Iridiums plugs! That and I would like to pull them out and check whats going on in the combustion chamber is why I stoped using ngk Iridiums ! Most FSM's have pictures of diffrant plugs with diffrant exposures to them. like oil soaked, rich, lean exc.

Dude, are you a necromancer or something? You just resurrected a four year old thread.
