yes i did search just as it states, i don't want to move it to the back. ok so i will have a system in the car rather soon, i was just wondering about some batteries that are more common as of my knowledge.im not too familiara with cranking rates and what not, so maybe you guys can help me out.

the top three that i have noticed are

Westco sealed battery - http://www.store.yahoo.com/pha....html

Sealed SVR battery - http://www.ebatteriestogo.com/...s.htm

Genesis COMPACT Battery - http://www.pdm-racing.com/specials/specials.html

links are up for specs!

lemme know thanks

edit*** well i see that it says its not for powering big subs so i guess genesis is out. or is anyone using it with a sound system?

i think im leanin more toward s the svr. and i see that the westco weights in at 25 lbs

lemme knopeace

yeah i have the westco battery(same thing as a stock miata battery) and it's still pretty heavy, i'd go for the genesis. at 13.5 lbs, that's pretty light, and smaller as well

I use the SVR sealed battery (First one shown on that page Part #SVR28-12).

This is what Heavy Throttle offers and sold to me. It gets the job done well. It allowed my Greddy FMIC piping to go through the battery tray while keeping the stock battery location. I had no problems cranking the engine up through the entire winter.

The only thing I dislike is the terminals on that(the brass colored ones). They're tapered off at the end and it makes it hard to clamp the stock battery posts onto. The standard ones will have a difficult time clamping because it will slide up off the end while you tighten it. I still made it work by modifying the stock ones, so it's not impossible.

Hey guys I had the slim lightweight battery in my sr powered 240, and I hated it I had it relocated if you leave your headlights on for more than 5 mins I hope you have jumper cables. So thats just my experience but when i go to the track i switch over to the light weight battery in the back.

I have the westco one, hasnt died on me yet. If you want to use your stereo or whatever when the car is off, just get a full sized optima battery and relocate to the trunk.
