new G35X owner and looking at some tires .. cant seem to get an sure answer on the size wheels i can put on car. ive heard only go 18 then some say i can get away using 20's .... also there is the matter of the sensor in the tire to let u know tire pressure ... do i need to use the ones that are on the car tires already or buy new one or just have that feature disabled ... since i am new to all this i need some help ... and when/if i do get my wheels and tires do i go to a Infiniti dealer to have installed?

thanks

It comes with 17. Most of us still riding on the original. I've seen 18,19,20 on X. I would like to go 18" but that's just probably next spring. Or might stay with 17. I know it would look better on 18-19 but you need clearance for snowy days. I used to have a neighbur His car had not much clearance. He had a really screwed up winter time. I deceided it won't happen to me. That's why I would not go bigger than 18" If the snow not a factor for you or you looking for some summer tires than go for the 18-19. They look nicer. 20 would be too big I think. I rather lower it than go with 20".

Sorry forgot about the sensors. They are pricey I would use them it is a good feature in the car. You don't have to worry about the tire pressure. I am pretty sure they are transferable to the other wheels.

Yes you can transfer the tire pressure sensor very easily. It takes a few mintues.

There is a member named Spacy9 that has a G35X with 20s. He justed posted a thread about his new license plate - so he could be at least one source from someone who has actually done it.

hmm will 22's fit on a X ... but yea i thought those sensors were transferrable

Just go to the tire store\rim store .. ask them if you can see a 22" or 20" rim on your front and rear ... then you can estimate what tires you want to run .. Low Pro ? or mids .. warning 22's LOW , 20's .. i have no clue maybe Mids on a X

If im wrong just point me out . i only have 19inch motegi Track Touge

I think the 22" comment was supposed to be a joke

Back to the topic at hand - there is another current thread titled G35X suspension limitiations - there are several examples of members who not only have 20s - but they have lowered the car as well.

This thread is about the max wheel size for the G35X not the coupe

So the fact that you have 22s on a coupe has little to do with the max wheel size on the X sedan.

the X is a little bit taller than a Coupe

If i had a g35X i would go swap my brothers 22"s and see if it fits .. but i dont ... only have a 05 Coupe

For comparison reasons...
