What size wheels and tires can I fit on a 97 240

I'm probably going to run 17s. How much rubber can I fit on the front and rear wheels without getting into interference issues? I was considerign running a wider wheel in the back than the front. Comments?

from what I hear, 225 is as big as you will be able to go, and it will be kinda tight. That might be from an S13 or just wrong overall, so don't quote me on it. Sorry I couldn't be more help : \

What offset are you going to use, what width, and help me understand why you'd use a wider wheel in back? This still confuses me..

9.5 is the bigest i have seen on a s14 stock. had around a 15-25 offset
