I am planning to get the 16x7 gramlight 57c's for an s13. im fairly new at all this.... i know our offset is 40 but they dont make the rims in that offset? so what offset should i get? also what size tires do i get? according to tirerack, it says 205/55 but the gramlights are 7in wide so shouldnt i get a wider tire than 205?

205-215 wide tires are a best fit for a 7" wide wheel in a low profile tire.

I suggest purchasing 4 215/45/16 Falken Azenis Sports. You can't buy a better tire for the money.

I also suggest moving to a +20 - +30 offset if possible, the +40 offset will give you problems if you later mount Tein HAs or 300Z brakes. Being Gramlights I'm more than sure they offer a more RWD biased offset.

ok thanks for the info. i noticed that you said 215/45/16. dropping the aspect ratio from 55 to 45 wont be bad? or did u make a typo.

The sizes we know will work without issues are a 205/50-16, 205-55-16, or a 215/50-16. A 215/45-16 is only about 23.5" O.D. and the load rating on most of those are going to be an 86 (too low for this car). You want to stick with at least an 87 load rating. The 205-55-16 is going to be pretty tall but will work on a non-lowered car. As far as offset, we typically see anywhere from 45-35mm. Granted, we tend to be more conservative, but we don't have issues with that setup when it comes to fender rubbing. The lower that number, the further out toward the fenders you get.
