What look are you going for? The stretched look seems to be the fad nowadays. I'm running a 235/40 Azenis on my 18x8.5. I think it looks fine, not stretched, not ballooned.

And these will be on your new Weapons I'm assuming, right?

I run a 265, but I am the minority here. I prefer grip over low offset, stretched tires and tons of camber. So it really comes down to what you want and what your offset will allow given the ride height of your car.

I say 225/45. I always say a 45 for the back on a 17. 40 series in the front for a 17.

I'm jealous of all you guys who have 265, 275 in the rear.

I'll need to get new wheels, or fender flare the crap out of my car to go any wider than a 245.

if you're running the same sized wheels all the way aroudn, why would you run different sized tires in the rear unless you have gobs of power. I personally run 235/40 on my 17x9's so that i can rotate my tires lol. yeah i know its cheap, but i also know that neither of the cars i've had these on needed any more tire than that in the rear.

I am asking myself the same question... I have a set of 17x9 +12 gram lights and I am torn between the super stretch and the meaty tires... hoping for something in between personally.

I actually ended up going with 225 45 17 they fit really nice, not an EXTREME stretch but still noticeable and still alot of tread on the ground!

That is good info... since you pretty much have your answer, and I think I just about have mine, but Ill post what Im going with here and what I am looking for:

s13 with 17x9 +12. From what i have read it is best to not go with a stagger when your wheels are not staggered. I cant decide if I should run a 225/45/17, 215/45/17, or 235/40/17. I will be lowered pretty low on tein HE coilovers with SPC rear adjustable camber, toe, and traction rods. Fenders will be rolled, but hoping to not have to pull.

I pretty much plan just to drive the car daily, so I dont need crazy widths. At the same time, I want something that doesn't have an insane stretch... I am fine with stretch though, just within reason. Open to any advice you guys have, I have been reading threads for over a week and Im still just not sure what is best.

I just bought 17x9 fronts and 17x9.5 rear wheels, for the fronts i plan to run 245/40/17 tires for sure but i am undecided on the rears yet. I'm looking for grip and Detroit pot hole protection over stretch.

For the 17x9.5 rears i really wanted to run a 265/40/17 tire but that seems to be a rare size that none of my choice tire makers make. I was actually all set to order some BFG KDW2's in 275/40/17 yesterday only to find out the 275's only come in the old tread design and won't make the fronts. So at this point i'm still searching for tires as well...

I rock 215/40's all around S14, Works XD-9's 17x 9.5 all around. Pics are in the Wheel Fitment Guide Thread...

My black 98 Z24 is in the process of being parted out but i do have a another one now for a daily driver. Its a red 02 Z24 supercharged, bolt ons, big brakes, suspension ect., nothing special compared to my 98, just a beater.
