I recently purchased some wheels so they should be arriving soon. I just wanted your opinions on tire sizes. I got the sizes I did because they didn't offer a 17x8/17x9 combo in the 4 lug pattern. I chose those offsets so I can clear coilovers, which I plan on getting in the near future.

The fronts are 17x7.5 with a +25 offset

The rears are 17x8.5 with a +35 offset

I was thinking maybe a 225/45/17 in front and 245/40/17 in the rear. That should bring the diameter close to stock. However, is it possible to go larger? I am not too concerned about the speedometer being off by +/- a few mph. Will these be flush with the fenders or will they stick out? I don't mind rolling the fenders, but I don't plan on getting overfenders or going with a widebody kit.

Exar, I remember you told me once that I could run 235-45-17s up front and 255-40-17s in the rear. Does this still hold true with the offsets I have?

Thanks, Johann

No one has any input? Oh well, I guess its time to ask the local tire shop and do some trial and error.

Thanks anyways, Johann

I can't say for sure about the rears but the fronts with a +25 are going to be way out toward the fenders. They are gonna have to test fit that one on the car. A 225 will tuck in nice with a +32 but I don't know about the +25. Anyone else seen this setup in person?

your fronts are gonna be either *right at* the fender or a bit outside of it, my 17x7.5 30mm are just barely inside the fender lip.

with those sizes, a 225-45-17 front and 245-40-17 or 255-40-17 rear will be great(I'd lean more toward the 245, to keep rolling diameter closer to stock) the front will definately fit, the rear..I dunno 8.5 in a 35mm offset may be pushing it, but I've heard of things like that working in the rear(with coilovers..) I'd run the 225-45 and 245-40, and check for coilover clearance in the rear, if its got more room, and you really want to, you can run a 255-40-17..

looks good to me, what wheels did you get?-chet

I ended up getting Volk CE28N's.

What size tires are you running on your's up front? 225-45-17?

I am not too sure about coilovers though. If I can get some springs with a spring rate and drop that I like, I will probably get springs and some KYB's. This car will see some track time (auto-x, drift, and 1/4 mile) but not that often, so coilovers aren't too important to me. Also, I think I will try 225-45-17s in front and 245-40-17s in the rear. If all else fails, I can go drifter syle and run 215s all around :D .

Thanks for the help guys, Johann
