Hey Guys, I'm pretty new to wheels and tires so please bare with my newbie questions. I have a 1989 240SX Coupe and I'm thinking about getting new rims and tires. I'm thinking about going with 17" but I don't know anything about what rim specifications or tire specifications I need. For example, I don't really know what lug pattern I need to get. I see a lot of things like 4x100 or like 4x114.3 but I'm not sure what I need. If there is someone out there with some information on this I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks in advance and any advice at all would be great.

Your car has a 4-114 stock bolt pattern. The 4-100 will not work. You can see a complete listing of all the wheels we sell for your car here:

http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?...x.jsp

That will also match you up with the correct tire size to match each wheel. You should also check out the F.A.Q. s Chet set up at the top of this page. All of these are covered in detail there. Welcome to the boards!Grant

I'd suggest the following:

Front:

17x8 +25 offset235/45/17

Rear:

17x9 +30 offset255/40/17

if hes got more power and a really stiff suspension and money to burn, sure :pI';d run a +22 or +20 front though, but thats just me being anal about clearance(I like to be sure)

anyways, check out the FAQ, some things I know have worked:17x7.5 +30 all around(what I run)17x7 +35 and +38 all around18x7.5 +32 (barely cleared..but it did...heh.) all around

and many split offsets, too many to list. what do you plan on doing with the car?-chet

Hey Guys,Thanks for all the suggestions. I guess I should've been more specific in terms of what I'd like to do. I don't have a lot of money to pour into this project, so most likely I will be going with the same rims and same tires all the way around. I think package deals tend to be the cheapest. Keep the suggestions coming!!

try some kosei or black racing or even 5-zigen fn-01R-C's in a 16" wheel, maybe run 225-50-16all around, thats plenty wide and there are lots of nice sticky tires made in that size.-chet

Hey Guys, Thanks again for all the suggestions. Seems like I might be able to get a good deal off of my friend for some enkei rims. Let me know what you guys think.

Enkei RSF-2 17x7 with some yokohama parada 215-40-17.

Also, I know that enkei's website only shows these in 5 lug, but i know these are 4x100/4x114.3.

Peace.

Sorry to hijack this thread but, I was wondering if you guys knew of any light weight wheels that are size 16X8 and 16X9 with the proper clearance for Q45 calipers and coilovers.

Hey Guys,

Sorry to keep asking newb questions, but if I went with my friends Enkei's I know that they are +40 offset. Would that offset be okay with my 89 240?

Thanks,
