hello! my 240 has just recently had the engine replaced with a ka with around 40k miles on it. i now would like to have you alls opinion on what i should do next. i did not have enough cash for an sr when my old engine started knocking a rod so i just had a ka to replace in it. i am thinking maybe i will just stay n/a, because i really dont see the money for a ka-t anytime in the next few years because i just dont have that kind of money right now. the car currently has a GReddy SP 2.25" catback. i am thinking i should maybe get headers and an intake, or should i jump into some nitrous? its a '91 automatic coupe. it is my only car, but i am in college currently so i will not drive it much at all except on the weekends.

thank you for all of your opinions and please dont flame me for my post. all i want is your opinions because i think this is the most valuable source for nissan/infinity owners to come to.

thank you.

Turbo. End of discussion.

Forged pistons, rods, crank, new head studs, blah blah blah. Buy it all slowly and put it all in at once. Make it a beast.

I would say a Performance Driving School. The better driver that you become, makes your car better. Just my .02 cents.

Some really good quality sticky tires. Best bang for the buck (after maintenance, of course).

A hotsshot header $375 will make the biggest difference and give you the most "bang for the buck" if you will :)

well how much exactly would a turbo cost? i ama college student and i make 6.75 here on campus so i would probably have to save for a long time...

so i hear tires, header, a driving school (it is an auto.. and its basically because i just want more bang than the stock ka gives. so i dunno what this will do for me.)

Agreed. What good is a powerful car when you can't drive it.

Ok, I got a question about this driving school business, maybe Ill post a thread, but for now... How much do they generally cost and when/where are some in the SE, cmon you ATL guys, I know you know whats up with this stuff. I keep seeing alot of people say to go to one of these and I would really like to, but I havent a clue where they are. I already am actively participating in my local autox club, and it really helps alot, but a school would be alot better Id think. Thanks for any help, Josh.

Phew I thought you said something about blowing it up. I would have had to call Aires down here to put you in your place young man;)

Nitrous is good if you do it right. If done right, yes it will put more wear on the motor, just as any hp increasing application will, but you will also get some nice results. Talk to go to the FI sub-board if you want to learn more about teh laffin gaz.

Okay, here I go.

First you should do suspension, brakes, and rims.

Second, here is the answer to your turbo question. You can do a junkyard kit for under $2000. more like $1500 if you know where to get the parts. Check this thread out. Do a few more searches, and you should be able to come up with some additional info. I hope.

Nitrous? If you learn about it, and have a professional install a good quality system, you would be fine. It is a good bang for the buck. Just do a little research on nitrous so you know what you are getting into. I bought a book, "Nitrous systems for sport compact cars," or something like that. Check Barnes and Noble in the automotive section.

PS If you are gonna do Nitrous or Turbo, get your engine compression tested, just top make sure it is in good shape.
